Brief Description: The Parenting Coordination Program (PCP) Director will develop and manage the PCP that provides parenting coordination services to low-income Washington, DC residents involved in custody disputes. The PCP will work collaboratively with the DC Superior Court and the UPO Office of Early Learning to facilitate referrals and the intake process of eligible families and ensure compatibility with Court policies and procedures. The Director will oversee the parenting coordination services provided by psychology students and post-doctoral fellows; work collaboratively with local psychology graduate programs to facilitate appropriate student placements with families to resolve custody disputes; organize and/or provide educational materials and didactic training sessions for students and will also directly provide parenting coordination services to clients as needed; and, develop and guide the development of a co-parenting plan for teen parents.  

Minimum Qualifications: Doctorate in clinical psychology (PhD or PsyD) from an APA accredited institution, license or license eligible in Washington DC. Background in parenting coordination and/or related issues (e.g., divorce, custody, family therapy). Experience working with clients from diverse backgrounds.  Supervisory experience (clinical and/or management).


Desired Qualifications: Experience supervising graduate level interns in a clinical setting and knowledge and experience working within the guidelines, policies and procedures of the DC Superior Court system.

The Laboratory for the Treatment of Suicide-Related Ideation and Behavior at Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, Department of Medical and Clinical Psychology in Bethesda, Maryland is accepting applications from psychologists and associated health professionals for a full-time Postdoctoral Fellowship. HJF provides scientific, technical and programmatic support services to MPS.

The Postdoctoral Fellow will spend approximately 70% of time in research activities and 30% in delivery of clinical care to research participants. Primary research activities will include data analysis and interpretation, preparation of scientific reports and manuscripts, as well as assistance with grant writing. Clinical activities will take place at several inpatient psychiatric settings and will involve the administration of psychological assessment batteries and the delivery of a targeted cognitive behavioral treatment protocol (Post Admission Cognitive Therapy [PACT]) for the prevention of suicide. The Postdoctoral Fellow will receive training and supervision in the areas of military mental health, psychotherapy research, clinical trials methodology, suicide risk assessment and management, and cognitive behavior therapy for the prevention of suicide. Examples of other training opportunities include research seminars, coursework in military psychology, and lectures provided through the Center for Deployment Psychology.

Requirements: Applicants must have a doctorate in Clinical Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or related field. Evidence of a strong research background as reflected by scholarly presentations and/or publications as well as work experience is highly desired. Travel to study implementation sites – the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (Bethesda, Maryland), the Ft. Belvoir Community Hospital (Ft. Clinical Psychologist I - Youth and Family Team

An Overview

The City of Alexandria is looking for a Clinical Psychologist who will provide evaluative and treatment services to children and youth who have emotional, behavioral and/or co-occurring challenges, and to their families. If you have a Doctoral Degree and a Clinical Psychologist license, the City of Alexandria would love to hear from you.  Our Clinical Psychologist provides individual and family therapy to children, adolescents and their families. When necessary, they provide crisis intervention. They assess competency and mental status at the time of the evaluations. They are responsible for coordinating client care with the Unit case manager.

Our Clinical Psychologist supervises psychology interns and or externs. They participate in training and organizational activities involved in the internship/externship program. They also provide consultation to other staff as needed. They must provide biweekly consultation to supervisory and line staff at Shelter Care, a short term residential facility. They are responsible for conferring with other professionals about specific clients.

Our Clinical Psychologist provides psychological evaluations for a variety of purposes, including diagnostic clarifications, parental fitness and sexual abuse assessments. They consult teachers, guidance counselors and representatives from other agencies on behalf of child clients. They participate in multi-disciplinary treatment planning meetings. They must complete all necessary training to retain license.

Our Clinical Psychologist follows agency procedures as they relate to productivity expectations and client payment issues. They must maintain needed paperwork requirements. They advocate on behalf of the client with various components of the support system. When necessary, they testify in court as expert witness.
