Description of Job: The BWC is seeking a licensed psychologist to work in a team setting to assess ministerial candidates, serving as a Ministerial Assessment Specialist. The Ministerial Assessment Specialist (MAS) interprets assessment measures, and conducts extensive psychosocial interviews and clinical interviews, screening for psychopathology and assessing inter-and intrapersonal functioning. The psychologist joins a Ministerial Assessment Team. The Team explores the candidate’s call to ministry, personality factors, and other experiences and functioning pertaining to fitness for ministry. They produce detailed reports that integrate test findings and collateral data with the psychosocial and clinical interviews, and provide recommendations for the District Committee on Ordained Ministry and the Conference Board of Ordained Ministry. A MAS meets with the ministerial candidate and District Committee representative to provide feedback in person. The Ministerial Assessment Team provides consultation and training to church leaders as needed.
