Advocacy in the Schools: Turning Clinical Data into Results for Your Patients

This presentation covers how psychologists can be more effective team members, informing efficacious interventions for student patients. As a former Special Ed teacher, Dr. Resnik will discuss how Special Ed law and policy are implemented in public and private schools, as well as the dynamics behind how decisions get made. This talk will also address how to help teams translate clinical data into practical recommendations for school service plans and transition to post-secondary settings.

This workshop is designed to help you:
1. Design psychological testing reports and clinical data that can be used to advocate successfully for patients.
2. Identify service delivery models in schools, and translate clinical data into appropriate advocacy goals for a student.

Dr. Rebecca Resnik is a licensed psychologist and director of Rebecca Resnik and Associates, LLC (formally Mindwell Psychology Bethesda), where she provides assessment, therapy, and school consultation services. She specializes in serving students ages two through young adulthood with diverse learning needs. Prior to becoming a psychologist, Dr. Resnik earned a bachelor's and masters in Special Education. She taught special education for Montgomery County Public Schools and at an independent special education school.

Requirements for completion: This is considered a home-study course for reporting purposes, and in order to get CE credit you must pass the post-test (75%) and submit a completed evaluation. You will receive your CE certificate via email 7-10 business days after course completion.
