Workshop Description:

 In this workshop, you will learn about acceptance and commitment therapy for pain and chronic pain. You will gain an experiential understanding of the processes that influence psychological inflexibility and specific clinical interventions to increased flexibility, health, and well-being. The speaker will also briefly introduce the philosophical underpinnings to this acceptance- and mindfulness-based approach including functional contextualism and relational frame theory,

Workshop Objectives:

After attending this workshop, attendees will be able to 

  1. List and describe three of the ACT Core constructs
  2. Demonstrate how to implement two ACT interventions to directly target avoidance or fusion in individuals with Pain and/or Chronic Illness
