2020-2021 Year End Report

The Membership committee faced unexpected obstacles this year due to COVID. However, we are delighted to have welcomed an unprecedented number of new and returning members! We attribute the jump in membership to the efforts of MPA in "hitting the ground running" to provide members with trustworthy COVID preparedness information. We also recognize that MPA's successful PSYPACT lobbying raised awareness of MPA's efforts to make life better for all psychologists by breaking down barriers in patient care. Our committee volunteers included Dr. Rebecca Resnik, Dr. Shreya Hessler (Co-Chair), Dr. Jack Roth and of course the wonderful Ms. Veronica Rand of MPA. This year we conducted three virtual "happy hours" on the topics of: Business of Practice (Co-hosted by Dr. Shreya Hessler), Early Career Psychologists (co-hosted with Dr. Megan Mattos and the ECP committee) and "What Do You Call a Retired Psychologist?" (hosted by Dr. Jack Roth, which focused on later career psychologists). Our committee also analyzed membership data and survey data to better understand how MPA can be of use to psychologists. Our committee recognizes that MPA is on a constant journey of improving how we welcome ALL psychologists, especially psychologists of color and early career psychologists. We look forward to being able to plan face to face "meetups" again next year!
